Let me state from the start that I’m a Downton Abbey fan, have been from the start of the TV series, and have happily watched the TV re-run these last couple of months or so, which has confirmed what an exceedingly good piece of work it is. So good in fact that the ever increasing expectation of the film version had become something of a worry.
